It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but James River Midlothian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Powhatan Indians 7-5. The Rapids haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Eli Hulette, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Grant, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

James River Midlothian's record now sits at 6-1. As for Powhatan, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, James River Midlothian will head out on the road to square off against Albemarle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Powhatan, they will welcome Clover Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
