The Newsome Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Steinbrenner Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Newsome sitting on ten straight wins and Steinbrenner on four.
Newsome not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 7th. They never let East Bay get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory.
Haleigh Galvan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Sarai Nicholas was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Emily Mowel was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Newsome was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Steinbrenner narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Alonso 4-3.
Steinbrenner also got a great performance from Lilly Patton as she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Patton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jenna Fortenberry, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Berkley Demetter, who scored a run while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Newsome's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for Steinbrenner, their record is now 12-4.
Newsome couldn't quite get it done against Steinbrenner in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
