After each having a week off, the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets and the Creekview Grizzlies will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sprayberry's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Riverwood 49-0. That looming 49-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Yellow Jackets yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sprayberry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ian Hulbert, who rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. That's the most rushing yards Hulbert has posted since back in September of 2024. Jrue Keeling helped out on the ground, rushing for 84 yards and a rushing touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sprayberry was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 354 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Creekview waltzed into their matchup last Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 28-21.
Sprayberry better keep an eye on Alex Penrod. He was instrumental in Creekview's win, throwing for 187 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes, while also rushing for 68 yards and one score. Penrod's passing game has become a key predictor of the Grizzlies' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.
Sprayberry's record is now 5-1. As for Creekview, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Sprayberry has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 251 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Creekview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 166.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything went Sprayberry's way against Creekview in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Sprayberry made off with a 41-21 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Grizzlies' Austin Guest, who threw for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 46 yards and one score. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Yellow Jackets to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
