Softball Game Preview: Laton Mustangs vs. Wonderful College Prep Academy Lions

Laton has gone a perfect 6-0 against Wonderful College Prep Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will welcome the Lions at 4:15 p.m. Laton has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Laton lost 24-5 to McFarland on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Laton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jade Perez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Perez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Madison Heffley was another, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Wonderful College Prep Academy played against Alpaugh on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Wonderful College Prep Academy is on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12. As for Laton, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Laton took their win against Wonderful College Prep Academy in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 27-17 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
