Basketball Recap: Cassopolis Rangers vs. Bangor Vikings

The Cassopolis Rangers stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 59-20 victory over Bangor. While fans of Cassopolis might be used to big wins, the 39-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.

Atyanna Alford continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Alford is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Ella Smith was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six steals.

Cassopolis' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Bangor, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Cassopolis' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Comstock is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Bangor, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hartford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
