Calvary Baptist proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Crossroads Christian Warriors 3-2. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Calvary Baptist took Crossroads Christian into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 15-13.

Alexandra Martin paced Calvary Baptist's offense, picking up 26 kills. Martin got some help from Tatiana Dashjian and her 27 assists. Martin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Calvary Baptist pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Crossroads Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Calvary Baptist is set to face off against their familiar foe Packinghouse Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Crossroads Christian will square off against rival Norton Science & Language Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
