Soccer Game Preview: Polytechnic vs. North Side

Polytechnic hasn't had much luck against North Side recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Polytechnic Parrots will square off against the North Side Steers at 7:45 p.m. North Side took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Polytechnic, who comes in off a win.

Polytechnic will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against Wyatt on Tuesday. Polytechnic was the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Wyatt. Considering the Parrots' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, North Side was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against Paschal, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Steers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 536th, while the Panthers are ranked 184th).

Polytechnic's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for North Side, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
