Volleyball Game Preview: Ashford Yellowjackets vs. Wicksburg Panthers

The Ashford Yellowjackets will take on the Wicksburg Panthers in a tournament on Monday. Ashford will be strutting in after a victory while Wicksburg will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, Ashford earned a 3-1 win over Dale County. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won nine in a row.

The win didn't come easy: Dale County scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 16-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Wicksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Slocomb.

Ashford's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Wicksburg, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Ashford came up short against Wicksburg when the teams last played back in September, falling 2-0. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
