Baseball Recap: Delavan Find Success

While Delavan's victory against Havana wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Ducks 2-1 on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Ducks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Bryson Horning spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Delavan is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Kyi Westbrook was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Braden Arrenholz, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Delavan's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Havana, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Coming up, Delavan will challenge Midwest Central on Thursday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Havana, they will square off against Hamilton/Warsaw at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
