Softball Game Preview: Mission Eagles vs. Flour Bluff Hornets

For the second straight game, Mission will face off against Flour Bluff. The Eagles will face off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mission's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Flour Bluff's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mission's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Flour Bluff hitters got past them. The Eagles fell 11-7 to the Hornets on Thursday.

For Flour Bluff's part, the team relied heavily on Isabel Abitz, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits Abitz has posted since back in March. Addison Mayo was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

The win was the fifth in a row for Flour Bluff, bringing their record up to 21-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mission, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
