Basketball Recap: Highlands Ranch Takes a Loss

Highlands Ranch played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the George Washington Patriots, falling 79-46. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-19.

Despite the loss, Highlands Ranch still got an impressive performance from Mason Lane, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Benner, who posted five points.

George Washington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Malachi Headrick out in front who went 8 of 10 on his way to 18 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Trimm, who went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds.

Highlands Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for George Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

When Highlands Ranch and George Washington next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Highlands Ranch will try to stop Evergreen's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highlands Ranch is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season. Similarly, George Washington will try to stop ThunderRidge's four-game winning streak when the meet at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
