Recap: Ironton Fighting Tigers vs. Chesapeake Panthers
The Ironton Fighting Tigers were the 53-41 winner over the Chesapeake Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Ironton took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chesapeake on Tuesday.
Ironton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Braden Schreck, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and Ashton Layne who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Bailey Thacker was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Ironton's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Chesapeake, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4.
Ironton will take on Dawson-Bryant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dawson-Bryant will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 600th, while Ironton is ranked 185th). As for Chesapeake, they will head out on the road to face off against South Point at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Point is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
