Baseball Recap: Hereford Takes a Loss

Hereford's last matchup with Canyon could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Whitefaces came up short against the Eagles, falling 14-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Whitefaces have suffered against the Eagles since March 25, 2019.

Hereford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tell Bryant, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Bryant has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times he's played. Another was Ethan Subealdea, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Hereford is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-13-1. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3-1 record this season.

Hereford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canyon, they will square off against Seminole at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
