Baseball Recap: Pioneer Valley's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Pioneer Valley took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Cabrillo, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Conquistadores 8-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Thomas Zepeda was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Zepeda wasn't the only one making solid contact: Pioneer Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Pioneer Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Cabrillo, they moved to 10-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Pioneer Valley has already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against San Luis Obispo on the 29th. As for Cabrillo, they will challenge St. Joseph at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
