Basketball Recap: Desmet Piles Up the Points Against Iroquois/Lake Preston

While DeSmet didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed by Iroquois/Lake Preston to the tune of 59-31 on Monday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for DeSmet and bumps their season record up to 6-3. As for Iroquois/Lake Preston, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

DeSmet won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Howard at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. DeSmet is facing Howard at the right time seeing as Howard is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Iroquois/Lake Preston, they will take on Highmore/Harrold at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Highmore/Harrold will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Iroquois/Lake Preston surely won't give up without a fight.
