Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Simmons walked away with it. They came out on top against the Lumberton Panthers by a score of 59-50 on Thursday. The Blue Devils' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Simmons' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vontasia Rush, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Rush has posted since back in December of 2024. Akiah Prince was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Simmons' record now sits at 28-0. As for Lumberton, their loss dropped their record down to 22-5.

Looking ahead, Simmons will face off against Thrasher at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Simmons knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Thrasher likes a good challenge. Lumberton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
