Basketball Recap: Castleberry Takes a Loss

Castleberry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Lake Worth Bullfrogs 46-19. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 42-18 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Lake Worth had a senior duo take command as Kylah Nabors dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds and Jaqueline Cleveland almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cleveland has scored at least a third of Lake Worth's points. Aliyah Salas was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

Castleberry's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Lake Worth, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 15-11.

Castleberry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 93-13 loss against Bridgeport on the 14th. As for Lake Worth, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 96-14 defeat against Decatur on the 14th.
