Preview: Macon County Tigers vs. Portland Panthers
The Macon County Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Portland Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Macon County has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Portland will arrive with three straight victories.
On Friday, Macon County came up short against White House and fell 44-37.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kaydence Walrond, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laityn Kirby, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Portland slipped by Greenbrier 54-53 on Friday.
Macon County dropped their record down to 17-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Portland, their victory bumped their record up to 12-16.
Macon County strolled past Portland when the teams last played last Friday by a score of 47-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Macon County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
