Baseball Recap: George West Triumphs

The third road contest was the charm for George West, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against the Cole Cougars by a score of 6-2 on Thursday.

Vance Partridge tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trevor Poe, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adam Duran, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The victory got George West back to even at 5-5-1. As for Cole, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, George West will be playing at home against Great Hearts Northern Oaks at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Cole, they will welcome Stockdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
