Basketball Game Preview: Pearsall Mavericks vs. Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls)

The Pearsall Mavericks will venture away from home to take on the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Pearsall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.9 points per game this season.

Pearsall saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Zapata. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mavericks came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while the Hawks are ranked 1028th).

The losing side was boosted by Marcus Woodard, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Rodriguez, who posted nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Uvalde was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 52-43 to John F. Kennedy.

Uvalde's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Pearsall, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.
