Basketball Game Preview: Patrick Henry Academy Patriots vs. St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers

Patrick Henry Academy hasn't had much luck against St. John's Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Patrick Henry Academy Patriots will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers at 7:15 p.m. Patrick Henry Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.

Last Monday, Patrick Henry Academy came up short against Thomas Heyward Academy and fell 56-48.

Despite the loss, Patrick Henry Academy had strong showings from Mikell Tucker Mathis, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Trey Adkins, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Mathis a new career-high in assists (six).

Meanwhile, St. John's Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell just short of Dillon Christian by a score of 86-84. One positive for the Cavaliers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

St. John's Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Patrick Henry Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Patrick Henry Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against St. John's Christian Academy when the teams last played last Tuesday, but they still walked away with an 80-74 victory.
