Baseball Recap: Northwest Guilford Takes a Loss

Northwest Guilford fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Ragsdale on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-2 to the Tigers. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Northwest Guilford saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nic Turner, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Northwest Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ragsdale, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Northwest Guilford has already played their next contest, a 17-10 victory against Oak Grove on the 5th. As for Ragsdale, they will head out to take on Southwest Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
