Basketball Recap: Talladega Tigers vs. Homewood Patriots

It was a good run, but the Talladega Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Homewood. While losing is never fun, Talladega can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Patriots are ranked 30th).

When it comes to explaining why Talladega lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trinity Webb. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Webb is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last 18 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla White, who scored seven points.

Talladega's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-8. As for Homewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Talladega will square off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Homewood, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Minor will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
