Soccer Game Preview: Avon vs. Solon

The Avon Eagles will take on the Solon Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Avon comes in on six and Solon on five.

Avon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand Green a 1-0 shutout. Avon's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six matchups.

North Royalton typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Solon proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Bears 2-1.

Solon's win bumped their record up to 12-5-1. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4-2.

Avon took their win against Solon in their previous meeting back in September of 2017 by a conclusive 5-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
