Lawson Vassar and LJ Wallace provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Mills University Studies. The connection was good for 75 yards, the longest such play in 5A Central this season.
Jacksonville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Little Rock Christian Academy, 13-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Red Devils.
Pulaski Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Vassar threw for 469 and six touchdowns and Wallace had 219 yards receiving. On the ground Jairus Porter chipped in 35 yards. Hunter Henry helped Pulaski Academy's passing attack out by catching eight balls for 125 yards.
Pulaski Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bruins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Vassar has thrown for 2800 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, while Wallace has 78 catches for 1148 yards. Porter leads the league in rushing with 405 yards.
A big matchup in 5A Central this week will be when the Comets take on Jacksonville. Mills University Studies is in third place, while Mark Whatley's team is in first place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Comets take on the Red Devils. Mills University Studies has allowed 134 points this season, while Jacksonville has given up 109.
The Red Devils and the Warriors played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Red Devils eventually emerging with a 13-7 victory.
