Baseball Game Preview: Knox Redskins vs. Jimtown Jimmies

Knox is 0-4 against Jimtown since April of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Redskins will face off against the Jimmies at 12:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Knox's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Triton 7-0.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Jimtown rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Lancers. The Jimmies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Not much got past Dalton Cook, who gave up just three hits to keep LaVille off the board. Cook has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connor Christman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Broderic Kaler, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Jimtown is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Knox, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.

Knox couldn't quite get it done against Jimtown in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 5-1. Can the Redskins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
