Softball Recap: Jenkins Cavaliers vs. Harlan Green Dragons
Jenkins extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 13-7 in the process. They came up short against the Harlan Green Dragons, falling 13-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 last Tuesday.
As for Harlan, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-5. Considering they have won 12 contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Harlan's part, Jordyn Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Smith was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ella Lisenbee was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Addison Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Jenkins will host Twin Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Harlan, they will head out to take on Hazard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Green Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
