Preview: Kemper County Wildcats vs. Seminary Bulldogs
Kemper County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Seminary Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kemper County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 317 points over their last seven games.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kemper County had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Franklin County with points to spare, taking the game 51-34. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
It was another big night for Kendetryon Backstrom, who rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Toddrick Rush was another major influence, as he rushed for 45 yards and ran in a TD.
Meanwhile, Seminary owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past West Marion, posting a 27-0 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Seminary, who have now won four matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
Kemper County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.3 points per game. As for Seminary, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Kemper County took their victory against Seminary in their previous matchup back in November of 2016 by a conclusive 48-23. Does Kemper County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Seminary turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
