Softball Recap: Comanche Comes Up Short

Comanche made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tolar, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Indians fell just short of the Rattlers by a score of 7-5 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered since March 3rd.

Kylee Hesbrook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Cassandra Rangel made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Avery Luker, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Comanche has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's still a better percentage than their 5-20 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Tolar, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4-2.

As of now, neither Comanche nor the Rattlers have any future games scheduled.
