Football Recap: Northeast Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Community Christian

Northeast Academy kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost to the Community Christian Cyclones on the road by a 48-30 margin. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Community Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Stephen Edwards out in front who rushed for 89 yards and one score, and also picked up 83 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most receiving yards Edwards has posted since back in August of 2024. Jack Beamon was another key signal caller, throwing for 234 yards and four TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing.

Community Christian's record now sits at 2-0.

Coming up, Northeast Academy will face off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Community Christian, they will square off against Berean Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
