It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dyer County can now relate to. They were dealt a 41-14 loss at the hands of the Marshall County Tigers on Friday. The Choctaws' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Tot Gardner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 261 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry for Marshall County. Gardner is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Tyler Thompson was another key player, throwing for 212 yards and one TD.

Dyer County's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Marshall County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Dyer County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marshall County, they will challenge Pearl-Cohn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Firebirds have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven matchups.
