California School for the Deaf and Contra Costa Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Eagles will face off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

California School for the Deaf kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 59-37 to Fremont Christian. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Despite their loss, California School for the Deaf saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Isaiah Acton, who posted ten points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Alvin Evans, who scored nine points.

Meanwhile, Contra Costa Christian scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They were beaten by Redwood Christian 72-38. The Cougars have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Things could have been worse for California School for the Deaf, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-40 loss to Contra Costa Christian in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
