While Windsor Locks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Bolton with a sharp 15-7 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Dylan Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Hall was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Joey Tripp was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Garrett Hinckley, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Stafford, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They walked away with a 9-6 win over East Windsor on Wednesday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Landon Tozier, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those RBI were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Tantillo, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Windsor Locks' win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Stafford, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Windsor Locks has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Stafford struggles in that department as they've averaged .431. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
