Football Recap: King William's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Westmoreland on Monday, King William came back down to earth. The Cavaliers lost 38-13 to the Essex Trojans on Friday. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-0.

Despite the loss, King William saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Xavier Shelton rushed for 99 yards and one TD on only five carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, King William fell to 2-1. As for Essex, the victory was the 12th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, King William will host Caroline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Essex, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
