Basketball Recap: Olean Comes Up Short

Olean lost to Salamanca back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Huskies came up short against the Warriors, falling 46-25. The game marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Salamanca found their leader in freshman Ella Crouse, who posted seven points and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Crouse. The team also got some help courtesy of Liana Jimerson, who put up eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Olean and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Salamanca, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olean won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wellsville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Salamanca, they will challenge Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
