Softball Recap: Kenedy Gets the Win

Kenedy won the last time they faced Yorktown and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Wildcats.

Jaylen Rodriguez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riann Aguirre, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Kenedy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-9. As for Yorktown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kenedy is set to square off against their familiar foe Port Aransas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Yorktown will take on rival Woodsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
