Football Recap: San Pedro Falls to Torrance in First Game of Season

San Pedro unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 37-13 to the Torrance Tartars on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Tartars: they've now lost three in a row.

Leading Torrance to victory were Gibson Turner and Vaughn Reinert. Turner threw for 349 yards and four TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, while Reinert gained 135 total yards and two touchdowns.

Looking ahead, San Pedro will take on Kennedy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Torrance, they will challenge West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
