Softball Recap: Van Comes Up Short

Van was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the PikeView Panthers, falling 15-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 on Friday.

Shanna Cabell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hailey Tackett, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Van's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. PikeView has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Van will be playing in front of their home fans against WestSide at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for PikeView, they will face off against Independence at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
