Baseball Recap: North Buncombe Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against T.C. Roberson, North Buncombe was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the North Henderson Knights 5-3. For the Black Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 7-3 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Bannen Winker was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

North Buncombe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

North Buncombe's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7. As for North Henderson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Buncombe will challenge T.C. Roberson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Black Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Henderson, they will face off against Pisgah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
