Softball Recap: Waverly Comes Up Short

Waverly was the 15-2 winner over Seton Catholic Central when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines fell just short of the Saints by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday.

Waverly's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Seton Catholic Central, their record is now 3-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waverly will venture away from home to face off against Owego Free Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the River Hawks have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Seton Catholic Central, they will head out to challenge Oneonta at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.56 runs per game on average), something the Saints will no doubt try to take advantage of.
