Basketball Recap: Peck Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Peck won the last time they faced Mayville, and Thomas West did his part to make sure it happened again. The Peck Pirates rang in the new year with a 38-29 win over the Mayville Wildcats on Sunday thanks in part to West, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Peck's points.

Another player making a difference was Aiden Alfaro, who posted eight points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in blocks.

Peck pushed their record up to 4-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mayville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peck will head out to face off against Dryden at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dryden has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three matchups. As for Mayville, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Mayville Wildcats face off against the Kingston Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
