Baseball Recap: Silsbee Comes Up Short

Silsbee lost against Bridge City last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Silsbee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendon Hughes, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Silsbee's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7-1. As for Bridge City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-2-1.

Coming up, Silsbee will be playing at home against Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bridge City, they will head out on the road to challenge Jasper at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
