Ferndale's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellow Jackets have posted since April 29, 2024.

Ferndale saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Hrivnak, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Josh Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ferndale's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Ferndale will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Glendale at 4:15 p.m. The Yellow Jackets are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they will host Blacklick Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
