Basketball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Luella Lions, falling 75-5. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Luella got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leilani Ward out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Ward a new career-high. Skye Hunter was another key player, going 7 of 10 on her way to 19 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Luella, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Riverdale has already played their next contest (against Stone Mountain), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Luella wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-52 victory against Stephenson on the 31st.
