Baseball Game Preview: Dallastown Wildcats vs. Central York Panthers

Dallastown is 9-1 against Central York since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Dallastown Wildcats challenge Central York Panthers at 4:15 p.m. Dallastown will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Dallastown is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Northeastern 6-4.

Dallastown got a great performance from Matt Stone as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Kessler, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Flinchbaugh, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Central York was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Lampeter-Strasburg, falling 11-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central York saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Klimchock, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Dallastown's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Central York, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Dallastown came out on top in a nail-biter against Central York in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Does Dallastown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central York turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
