Volleyball Game Preview: Verdugo Hills Dons vs. San Fernando Tigers

The Verdugo Hills Dons will head out on the road to square off against the San Fernando Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. San Fernando took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Verdugo Hills, who comes in off a win.

Verdugo Hills barely beat Monroe the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dons put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Dons yet this season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-11, 25-11.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when San Fernando challenged Kennedy on Wednesday. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Cougars. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

San Fernando took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-22.

Verdugo Hills' win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for San Fernando, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Verdugo Hills beat San Fernando 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Will the Dons repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
