Basketball Recap: East Lake Comes Up Short

East Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 81-48 loss at the hands of the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-25.

Palm Harbor University's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kylie Smith, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Smith has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last three times she's played. Leah Barker was another key player, going 12 for 15 on her way to 26 points and eight rebounds.

East Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Palm Harbor University, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

East Lake has already played their next contest (against Land O' Lakes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Palm Harbor University wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-38 victory against Seminole on the 15th.
