Basketball Recap: Champlain Valley Union Comes Up Short

Champlain Valley Union and Burlington squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Champlain Valley Union had to settle for second. They took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burlington Seahorses. The Redhawks haven't had much luck with the Seahorses recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Champlain Valley Union still got an impressive performance from Luke Allen, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Allen a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (75%).

Champlain Valley Union's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Burlington, they pushed their record up to 23-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
