Football Recap: Benton Takes a Loss

Benton lost against West Delaware back in October of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bobcats came up short against the Hawks, falling 42-20. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Hawks are ranked 16th).

Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for West Delaware, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Benton will take on rival Iowa Falls-Alden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, West Delaware is set to face off against their familiar foe Clear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hawks 12.1, the Lions 4.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
