Basketball Recap: Hammond Central Takes a Loss

Hammond Central lost against Harrisville back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hammond Central Red Devils might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Harrisville Pirates an easy 63-43 win. While the Red Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 16-12 in the first quarter.

Harrisville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Chartrand, who posted 28 points. The match was Chartrand's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joe Shepherd, who had 19 points.

Hammond Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Harrisville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Hammond Central will take on Immaculate Heart Central in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Harrisville has already played their next game, a 60-29 victory against Morristown Central on the 18th.
